چکیده

Biological nitrogen fixation by the Rhizobium -legume symbiosis allows conversion of atmospheric into ammonia within root nodules mediated nitrogenase enzyme. Nitrogenase activity results in evolution hydrogen as a result side reaction intrinsic to this Some rhizobia, and also other fixers, induce NiFe uptake hydrogenase (Hup) recycle produced nitrogenase, thus improving efficiency process. In work we report generation symbiotic behavior hydrogenase-positive leguminosarum Mesorhizobium loti strains effective vetch ( Vicia sativa) birsfoot trefoil Lotus corniculatus ) forage crops, respectively. The ability recycling was transferred these through incorporation hup minitransposon Tn HB100 , leading full nodules. Inoculation plants with engineered led significant increases levels incorporated host legumes. level improvement performance dependent on recipient strain legume host. These indicate that has potential improve plants.

Ontogenetic Interactions between Photosynthesis and Symbiotic Nitrogen Fixation in Legumes.

Photosynthetic data collected from Pisum sativum L. and Phaseolus vulgaris L. plants at different stages of development were related to symbiotic N(2) fixation in the root nodules. The net carbon exchange rate of each leaf varied directly with carboxylation efficiency and inversely with the CO(2) compensation point. Net carbon exchange of the lowest leaves reputed to supply fixed carbon to root...

Nitrate reduction and nitrogen fixation in symbiotic association Rhizobium-legumes.

The inhibitory effect of nitrate on nitrogenase activity in root nodules of legume plants has been known for a long time. The major factor inducing changes in nitrogenase activity is the concentration of free oxygen inside nodules. Oxygen availability in the infected zone of nodule is limited, among others, by the gas diffusion resistance in nodule cortex. The presence of nitrate may cause chan...

Efficient Inactivation of Symbiotic Nitrogen Fixation Related Genes in Lotus japonicus Using CRISPR-Cas9

The targeted genome editing technique, CRISPR/Cas9 system, has been widely used to modify genes of interest in a predictable and precise manner. In this study, we describe the CRISPR/Cas9-mediated efficient editing of representative SNF (symbiotic nitrogen fixation) related genes in the model legume Lotus japonicus via Agrobacterium-mediated stable or hairy root transformation. We first predict...

Genetic diversity and symbiotic compatibility among rhizobial strains and Desmodium incanum and Lotus spp. plants

This work aimed to evaluate the symbiotic compatibility and nodulation efficiency of rhizobia isolated from Desmodium incanum, Lotus corniculatus, L. subbiflorus, L. uliginosus and L. glaber plants by cross-inoculation. Twelve reference strains and 21 native isolates of rhizobia were genetically analyzed by the BOX-PCR technique, which showed a high genetic diversity among the rhizobia studied....

Symbiotic Nitrogen Fixation.

Biosphere nitrogen is subjected to rapid turnover, and because it is eventually lost as nitrogen into the atmosphere, its maintenance requires continuous replenishment with reduced nitrogen from atmospheric nitrogen. Biological reduction of nitrogen to ammonia can be performed only by some prokaryotes and is a highly oxygen-sensitive process. The most efficient nitrogen fixers establish a symbi...
